Wizzair plays dirty against SkyEurope 4
The Hungarian low-cost airline Wizzair announced today an offer for SkyEurope passengers who should have traveled between Vienna and Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bruxelles, Bourgas, Copenhagen, London Luton, Naples, Paris and Rome Fiumicino.
I am quoting from Wizzair announcement:
Wizz Air [...] announced today that it would provide re-routing alternatives to passengers affected by the suspension of SkyEurope’s operations at Vienna airport due to unpaid debts.
The alternative flights offered by Wizzair are departing (all of them!) from Budapest.
Why a SkyEurope passenger who have to depart from Vienna should pay a bus to fly from Budapest, when SkyEurope offers free shuttle bus between Vienna and Bratislava Airport? And why they should fly when they also have to pay 30 euro/one way flight and to make their own arrangements for transfer between Vienna and Budapest?
I am reminding you that SkyEurope move all the flights opperating from/to Vienna Airport between August 15th – August 19th to Bratislava Airport.
Please be advised we have been forced to temporarily reroute our Vienna operations to nearby Bratislava Airport. All SkyEurope flights that were scheduled to depart/arrive from/to Vienna between Saturday, 15 August 2009 and Wednesday, 19 August 2009 will now depart and arrive in Bratislava Airport.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused resulting from these changes to your travel arrangements. Despite this fact, we still endeavor to provide you with services that are at the best value for money, and we look forward to welcoming you onboard.
Thank you for understanding.
Your SkyEurope Team
Bratislava (Slovakia) is located only 59km away from Vienna Airport with motorways from Austria, Czech Rep. and Hungary.
SkyEurope is providing free express shuttle services (yellow coaches) from Vienna Airport to Bratislava Airport. They are departing from Terminal 2 (departures) on 40min before the original departure of your Vienna flight. Prior to the departure, please check in as normal, and then proceed with your baggage and boarding cards to the coaches located right in front of the terminal.
Should you be arriving to Bratislava Airport, you may wish to take our free express shuttle (yellow coaches) to Vienna Airport that will be parked in front of the departure terminal. You must present SkyEurope’s boarding card when boarding the coach.

Pretty slick marketing I should say.
