A kid is always screaming when wants something. Sometimes parents can get what the kid wants, sometimes not. This kid wanted to play pac-pac-boom-boom in a game other started in 1959. So the kid got a “role” in 1962… but once arrived in Vietnam it suddenly got the game too serious and it left just in 1975, after 14 years of playing.
During this period, the kid wanted to rest a while, so it got another place to play… in the Dominican Republic … To protect lives and property during a Dominican revolt the kid took some 20,000 friends from the US troops.
Then it found a place to play in Lybia and Lebanon. In 1990 it’s Iraq and Kuwait invasion was called The Desert Storm Operation Game. In 1999 the kid came to play in Europe, in Kosovo and Serbia, after Bosnia in 1995. Then it was Iraq again, starting 2003, because Saddam was not good guy with its people and with other people…
And now, finally, this spoiled kid will play in Africa … in Somalia… Of course they have enemies, do you dare to think that they are playing just like this … with nobody?
So they got ANOTHER PLAYGROUND!
On December 10, 1992, President Bush reported that he had deployed US armed forces to Somalia in response to a humanitarian crisis and a UN Security Council Resolution. The operation, called “Operation Restore Hope”, came to an end on May 4, 1993. US forces continued to participate in the successor United Nations Operation in Somalia.
P.S. 1963 – Iraq. The C.I.A. supports a coup in Iraq against the democratically-elected Qassim government . The C.I.A. successfully supports coup in Iraq against the government of Rahman Arif to bring the Ba’ath Party to power, with Saddam Hussein eventually taking the helm (1968). Saddam Hussein was hanged at the end of 2006… remember?
