Till now there were # The Guardian, The Observer, Guardian Weekly, The Observer Magazine and some other. Now is one more magazine… # Guardian Monthly. I’ve round up Naples twice for finding it, but nobody heard about it. In the end I asked a free copy online. I got the copy some days ago and I said that I’ll write about it after I’ll do some reading.
Mostly I liked The Observer and its Observer Magazine, but the problem was that I was getting this newspaper and magazine just when I was in Naples or somewhere else abroad. I hope … GM will appear in Romania too. We’ll see.
Guardian Monthly is focusing on culture, lifestyle and people.
I like the gloss paper and the layout of the magazine, but as a content I will have to say the other publications of The Guardian make it better than the new GM. GM is easy to read, is not going in many details and sometimes you can find asking yourself: so, what was this article about? The style is good for those who are living on fast forward way and not for those that are searching lots of explanations and analysis.
I have selected for you couple of pages that I found interesting to read.
Cover story: Cate Blanchett leaves Hollywood to run the world’s first solar-powered theater. (full)
Out of Africa: Photojournalist O. Jobard follows one man’s harrowing journey from Cameroon to Western Europe in Search for a better life. (2 of 6 pages)

Sonia Gandhi: for the most powerful woman in India is time to hand her power to the next generation. (2 of 5 pages)

Nina Bawden, 81: 23 novels for adults, 19 for children, President of the Society of Women Writers and Journalists. (full)Â
